In this role, you will not simply create learning content, but become a trusted business partner stakeholders rely upon to positively impact business objectives. You will leverage your strong business acumen to discover opportunities to design effective learning solutions, develop engaging learning experiences in an iterative, collaborative way, and deploy those solutions across the business.

You will partner with Team Members across the company to identify where learning experiences can impact business results, engagement, and build learning plans and materials necessary to realize that impact. Along the way, you will build deep institutional knowledge of the core skills needed for key positions across Cumming, thinking critically and innovating on how to elevate the abilities of Team Members across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Determine opportunities for process or knowledge improvement through training.
  • Consults with leaders and determines training needs and recommends solutions.
  • Establishes and achieves training goals.
  • Works with senior leadership to determine training priorities and resources available for training and creates master schedule for development.
  • Identifies appropriate training development resource, whether internal, vendor, or external program and recommends vendor where appropriate.
Designs training programs using best practices.
  • Based on training goals, audience, and available resources, determines the best way to achieve learning results.
  • Creates content, exercises, measurement, and reinforcement activities based on the delivery method and training goals established. Ensures training content is interactive, engaging to audience and meets corporate standards for training.
  • Creates instructor guides to document each training course.
  • Works with instructors to ensure understanding of lesson plans to facilitate the best delivery experience for participants.
  • Ensures materials are prepared in a format.
  • Reviews and updates/revises training content to ensure training is current and relevant.
Coordinates the delivery of training.
  • Working with leaders, identifies participants and schedules training using the LMS.
  • Coordinates participant registration/enrollment process.
  • Schedules in-person delivery, coordinates phone and web meeting resources for self-managed courses.
Ensures delivery in accordance with program timelines.
  • Coordinates all aspects of training delivery including instructor materials and tools.
  • Conducts training programs appropriate for in-person delivery and technical/knowledge level ensuring participant engagement and satisfaction, and high evaluation results.
Manages training communications for target audience.
  • Creates material to attract participants to training. Ensures widespread knowledge of training opportunities and works with leaders to manage participation.
  • Communicates with participants and managers regarding pre-work, training content and reinforcement activities.
  • Assists with maintaining the Enterprise Learning and Development page and other internal communication outlets.
Conducts training evaluation.
  • Measures training in accordance with evaluation methodology and reports results to leadership. Determines changes to training program based on evaluation results and ensures changes are implemented.
  • Tracks instructor performance and provides feedback to continually improve performance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Psychology, Education, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Human Resources or other Learning and Development related certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and application, including, but not limited to:
    • Adult learning theory.
    • Needs assessment approaches and techniques.
    • Performance analysis methods and techniques.
    • Methods and techniques for developing learning and behavioral outcomes.
    • Instructional design models and processes.
    • Criteria used to assess the quality and relevance of instructional content in relation to the desired learning or behavioral outcomes.
    • Ability to design and develop both knowledge-based and performance-based assessments to the desired learning or behavioral outcomes.
  • Experience designing and developing technical, skills-based training.
  • Experience designing, developing, and delivering training solutions using different instructional modalities and authoring tools across multiple platforms.
  • Experience using and administering a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Develop and manage project plans and schedules.
  • Ability to work with remote teams.
  • Effective communication skills:
    • Ability to listen actively.
    • Express thoughts, feelings, and ideas in a clear, concise, and compelling manner
    • Effectively communicate with Team Members, business partners, and stakeholders.
