POSITION SUMMARY

Accountable to the Principal, the Instructional Operations Coordinator ensures the execution of instructional operations that helps to promote student achievement and a college preparatory environment along with ensuring that Carmen Schools of Science and Technology's mission, vision and core values are upheld. The Instructional Operations Coordinator is in charge of developing, implementing, and improving operational systems and processes related to teacher coverage, test administration, and course scheduling.

Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's Degree in education or related field

2. Strong organizational skills, especially with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides and Forms

3. Preferred experience with PowerSchool and SchoolRunner

4. Passion for high quality education and student achievement

5. Ability to lead and function in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment with a mature approach to challenges

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. General Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage systems to ensure classes are covered on a daily basis by substitute teachers

• Meeting testing deadlines including make-up testing

• Coordinate master schedule with school leaders and course registration for all new and re-enrolling students to support graduation progress

2. Managing Class Coverage

• Learn, implement, and improve systems to organize the coverage of classes daily

• Communicate with all stakeholders in a timely, professional, and effective manner

• Ensure class coverage operations are followed

3. Plan and administer grade level testing

• Act as the point of contact for the school for any communication regarding state testing

• Plan the execution of all grade level testing ensuring compliance with testing requirements (including coordination with the Director of IT for any online testing)

• Document and communicate testing plans to all stakeholders (e.g., school leaders, proctors, etc.)

4. Schedule Student Courses

• Create and manage systems to schedule student courses according to student needs, graduation requirements, and course availability

• Reporting students not on track for graduation to SLs and the Director of Student Services for review

• In collaboration with the Success Program Manager, develop a schedule for credit recovery and summer school

• Coordinate with School Leaders to build a master schedule

• Facilitate schedule requests, adjustments and changes of student schedules

• Enter transfer credits

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Instructional Operations Coordinator will work predominantly Monday – Friday in a high school environment. There will be times the Instructional Operations Coordinator will need to be available outside school hours to coordinate classroom vacancies.
