POSITION SUMMARY
The Instructor – Job Readiness Training (JRT), will be responsible for the instruction, development, mentoring, training/preparation of underemployed and unemployed clients in soft skills and life skills to get job ready. The Instructor will be responsible for maintaining curriculum, delivery to adults and youth and tracking all progress. Specific emphasis will be on resumes, interviews, communication (verbal and non-verbal), professionalism, conflict resolution, appropriateness, and other soft/essential skills. Other responsibilities include serving as liaison and SER representative at meetings, and establishing and maintaining partnerships to advance SER's mission.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KEY ACCOUNTABILITES
TRAINING DELIVERY/ SUPPORT/ IMPLEMENTATION:
Designs and delivers class instruction to a variety of individuals with substantially different educational, life experiences and barriers, through the development of instructional plans to meet course competencies, the development of activities which support lesson objectives, and delivers the instruction as approved. Adapt teaching methods to meet students’ varying needs, abilities, and interests. Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help.
Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provide students with opportunities to observe, questions, and investigate. Prepare objectives and outline for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines.
Track and document student mastery of competencies. Submit assessment documentation to SER training and program staff and coaches. Participate in periodic staffing meeting to discuss client progress in the program.
Manages the learning environment through keeping accurate attendance records, hours of training, performance, and skills achievement throughout training and enforcing SER expectations and attendance policies. Maintain the integrity of the curriculum and appropriate certifications.
Procure tools, supplies, and equipment necessary to deliver classroom training. Select, order, and issue books, materials, and supplies for courses or projects. Prepare classroom, order materials for class activities, organize and track tools. Transport and deliver materials/supplies to jobsites and other programmatic functions.
Provide disabled students with assistive devices, supportive technology, and assistance accessing facilities such as restrooms.

Advise students on internships, prospective employers, and job placement services.
Assists with the coordination of job fairs, hiring events and graduations.
As SER is ever growing and changing, you may need to adapt to new duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of two (2) years of documented experience as an instructor and/or workforce development
Excellent interpersonal and safety skills with a customer service mentality.
Excellent written, verbal communication, strong organizational and administrative skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Google products, and electronic communication. Experience in soft skills and life skills training.
Able to work with only general direction and with minimal supervision and strong leadership skills. Must be result driven and detail oriented
Ability to safely deliver contextual training in a classroom and in an On-The-Job setting to up to 20 students.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and stand on a ladder.
Must be able to handle information in a confidential matter Interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
Must have flexible work schedule and be able to work evenings and weekends (as required).
Must not be under the subject of pending disciplinary proceedings regarding the Educator’s Code of Ethics and must also be free of teaching related misdemeanors and felony convictions.
