This position is not open for relocation.

Under general supervision, responsible for providing a complete range of assigned welding services in all Laboratory environments.

You Will:
  • Operates all types of welding equipment including MIG, TIG, conventional electric, conventional gas apparatus or programmable welding devices.
  • Applies equipment to welding a variety of metals such as iron, steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Sets up and uses appropriate equipment to provide a timely, cost effective and high-quality service.
  • Maintains required certifications to ensure competence in such areas as the welding of vacuum or pressure vessels/lines.
  • Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties as assigned and in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
  • Contribute effectively within a diverse workforce and upholds Fermilab’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
We Are Looking For:
  • Technical School background experience with optimally 3 – 5 years of experience preferred
Physical Activity/Requirements:
Human Factors: Heavy lifting, heights, mental concentration, repetitive motion, standing, and visually demanding
Chemical Factors: Acid/Bases, Fumes and Welding
Physical Factors: Confined space and Oxygen Deficiency Hazard
PPE: Eye/face protection, foot protection, hearing protection, and respirators
