OrthoNebraska is adding an Intake Coordinator to our Clinic team! This role will support the Revenue Cycle to promote organizational health through patient experience and financial performance. The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires all healthcare workers, as well as individuals who interact with healthcare workers in a work setting, be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment unless a medical or religious exemption is approved. Currently, fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment. As a condition of employment, newly hired team members will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination or apply for a medical or religious exemption.

Department/Position Details:

  • Ability to utilize multiple software programs, simultaneously, to collect and obtain proper documentation for each individual patient visit.
  • Complete and accurate transfer of patient data into the electronic medical record, following registration guidelines.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert within the preregistration process.
  • Critical thinking, high attention to detail, and thorough communication of missing items within the medical record.
  • Audit New patient and New Problem future encounters to ensure all data points are entered correctly to ensure an efficient registration process
  • Utilize online system to resend paperwork to patients who do not have it completed, prior to their visit
  • Remove irrelevant or expired notes from the electronic medical record
  • Superior time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage sensitive registrations.
  • Efficiently validate all required patient demographic and health plan data to ensure accuracy and clean billing throughout the Revenue Cycle
  • Collaborate with the Insurance and Pre-Certification teams to ensure adequate coverage has been verified and/or authorizations are obtained prior to services as outlined by payer guidelines
  • Utilize interpersonal skills with both internal and external customers in the daily performance of duties
  • Regularly attend and actively participate in meetings
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate respect for patient rights and privacy
  • Participation by all members to support the team environment throughout all departments within OrthoNebraska
  • Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission
  • Team member is responsible for all other duties as assigned for which competency has been demonstrated

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or equivalent education/experience/credentials preferred.

Experience:

  • Experience in a healthcare environment with working knowledge of registration systems preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments while meeting our customer’s demands and deadlines.
  • Multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with aptitude for detail-oriented work required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to form and maintain working relationships within the organization to foster a team environment required.

Physical:

  • This position is classified as Sedentary Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (33%-66% of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
