POSITION SUMMARY
The Plant Inventory Control Clerk will be responsible for overseeing both the finish goods inventory and raw materials inventory and ensuring inventory accuracy. The focus for finished goods is on validating the prior day’s production counts by package and flavor. Raw materials inventory includes assisting in receiving in all raw materials except for bulk concentrate into QAD. This position also handles the cycle counts for all finished goods and raw materials including some bulk concentrate and makes the adjustments in the inventory reporting system. This role reports to the Production Manager and is based out of our Sparta, Michigan location.

Primary Responsibilities include
:
  • Validate prior day’s finished good production, including reviewing formula recovery and validating counts versus reported formula recovery. Communicate formula recovery and questionable yield information to plant on a daily basis.
  • Adjust work orders for any count discrepancies and communicate to impacted departments when it is complete.
  • Complete cycle counts on raw materials, including some of the bulk concentrates.
  • Complete miscellaneous packaging cycle counts.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts, input results in quarterly cycle count spreadsheet; must maintain accurate inventory.
  • Complete random cycle counts on finished product; responsible for determining which items to cycle count and at what frequency
  • Input cycle counts in spreadsheet and inform impacted departments of any significant cycle count adjustments
  • Ensure coolers and freezers are organized to support FIFO and daily counting; maintain row and bin integrity. If needed, rotate product so the oldest and partials are used first
  • Ability to read receiving documents and match them with actual product
  • Use production schedule to pull labels and stage them for production use. Accurately label inventory by conducting cycle counts. Responsible for filling in for label coordinator when out or on vacation.
  • Assist Quality Assurance Manager with Ingredient waste hold items – Destruction planning and completing destructions onsite.
  • Key individual for ensuring Yearly Deloitte Audit is successful.
  • Accountable for food safety, food quality and regulatory requirements for their position
  • Encouraged to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues
  • Adopt and maintain all SQF requirements for their position
  • Empowerment to work with supervision to resolve food safety and food quality issues within their scope of work
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • 6 months related experience
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Computer knowledge and ability to effectively communicate analysis of any issues or problems
  • Forklift certification
  • Must be detailed oriented and can multi-task
  • Must have excellent time management skills

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the food/beverage industry
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing or production environment
  • Ability to direct, coach, and train others
  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.

FREQUENT:
sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.

OCCASIONAL:
squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing up to 50lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.
