AEL-Span/Walker SCM is looking for an experienced Inventory Manager for our operation in Louisville, Kentucky. We are looking for the right person who shares our philosophy of Operational Excellence on a daily basis. AEL-SPAN’s primary objective is to deliver the right part, to the right place, at the right time.

Summary of Position:
The Inventory Manager is responsible for managing, developing, and maintaining the inventory programs in our operation comprised of over 2,000 part numbers (total pieces over 1.2 million).

Core Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for overseeing the inventory management process, defining departmental strategies for reporting inventory levels and ensuring inventory accuracy.
• Ensure inventory accuracy as required and oversee explanations and adjudications of issues and discrepancies. Maintain high standards in inventory accuracy.
• Oversee team of inventory auditors / clerks who cycle count, adjust, and report inventory problems and accuracy. Support the team with in-depth data analysis for root cause when needed.
• Develop and maintain a culture to promote API (Annual Physical Inventory) exemptions.
• Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures.
• Work with the customer to help ensure product stock is adequate and can cover demand.
• Analyze data when needed to report trends, anticipate future problems, and provide decision support.
• Working with site management, account manager, and customer representative, develop Business KPIs and monitor all Business KPIs.
• Ensure accurate reporting of all Business KPIs and metrics.
• Work with CI/Quality team to ensure Functional Excellence within business processes. Report on process failure trends.

Skills / Key Qualifications

• Minimum 3 - 5 years inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or similar
• Experience in Inventory Management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with proactive critical thinking skills
• Strong competence in MS office, including Excel.
• Strong data analytical/problem solving skills.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact and build relationships within all levels of the organization.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
• Product and inventory management certification, a plus
