About the Job:
Under minimal supervision, prepares and inspects receipts for accuracy and quality and performs the functions necessary to enter the product into the inventory database and then prep it for shelving. Must be aware of and follow all safety procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Processes incoming merchandise from start to finish including unboxing, identifying, inspecting, grading and data entry into the database and prepping pieces for shelving
- Reads and analyzes sellers’ paperwork (invoices, etc.) to confirm receipts are complete, undamaged, and attributed to correct seller, documents discrepancies as they occur
- Ensures Silver and Collectible product is added to receipt and delivered to appropriate departments for processing in a timely manner.
- Identifies unknown patterns and piece codes according to established inventory procedures or submits items for input from the Curating department
- Ensures that the image database is complete, accurate, and up to date by submitting pieces for image in a timely manner and in compliance with the department imaging criteria
- Verifies measurements in Orion are accurate and will update if they are missing.
- Will learn and use the ID tool to assist in more timely and efficient identification
- Handles discrepancies in the receipt according to inventory procedures
- Processes damaged pieces according to inventory procedures
- Processes miscellaneous items to be considered for showroom merchandise
- Meets the required individual and departmental benchmarks
- Must be able to flex into either individual or team processing as required by leadership
- Operates and maintains all tools and equipment required for position
- Interacts with walk-in individual sellers or star suppliers to nurture business relationships as needed
- Assists with other tasks and projects as required
- Could be utilized for training new department employees
- Flexed during peak season as necessary
- Performs functions of the Activity/Support role as required within the departmental rotation which includes recycling, clearing, and moving merchandise
- Read emails daily and respond as appropriate
