The Job Details: The Inventory Specialist (IS) is responsible for operating, safely and effectively, a variety of material handling equipment for the purpose of maintaining and managing warehouse inventory. The equipment utilized in these functions are various types of forklifts, slip sheets, and clamps. The IS will be responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting product. This position may also be asked to manage special projects as assigned. The IS must be self-motivated and able to work with a minimal amount of supervision. Training will be provided in overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of all inventory procedures. Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy in WMS system.
  • Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies.
  • Prepare and participate in physical inventories.
  • Any priority work assigned by Management or Customer Accounts team.
  • Fix all customer receipts as requested.
  • Check for mixed code dates.
  • Fix customer take weights.
  • Locate missing cases by running N-status reports.
  • Take care of all D-lots.
  • Investigate all cases and or pallets located in 4C cubby.
  • Investigate all over/shorts and damages and verify claims
  • Run daily reports and follow through with any outstanding issues.
  • Complete a minimum of 8 hours cycle counting weekly.
  • Clean up damaged locations weekly.
  • Ensure all good, non-damaged cases are accounted for.

  • Location, Department and Work Hours: Lebanon, IN/ Warehouse/Inventory
  • Hours: Exact hours to be determined, however, this position will be a split shift between 1stand 2nd shifts.

What We Are Looking For:

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

Experience

  • Forklift training
  • Checking and Loading experience.
  • Previous inventory experience preferred
  • Able to analyze information gathered to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
  • Ability to properly handle confidential information and records.
  • PC and Computer applications (MS Excel, Word etc.)

  • Bend and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Lift up to 70lbs with assistance on an occasional basis
  • Work in an atmosphere range of + 50 to - 30 degrees F with a moderate noise level

  • Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls
  • Be able to see, speak and hear for safety and productivity
  • Use scanners, tablets, radio, phones, and other warehouse machinery
  • Ability to lift overhead
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage stress and productivity guidelines
  • Drive a registered motor vehicle to satisfy daily requirements
  • Have acceptable and / or correctable vision
  • Personal interaction and communication required to and from other people is extremely high
  • Good arithmetic, reading, and typing skills
  • Understand and follow verbal instruction, written instruction, and company policies
  • A self-starter that can work independently and coordinate with others

  • Always maintain a professional manner in appearance and communications.
  • Participate in staff and/or customer meetings if required.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems.
  • Identify and record any issues relating to product, processes and/or quality.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through appropriate channels.
  • Verify the implementation of solutions.
  • Follow posted security procedures at all times while in the building.
  • Participate in Safety and Educational Training.
