Irrigation Specialist - Production (MA)
Job Description
The Irrigation Specialist will be responsible for executing all essential functions regarding irrigation and fertigation inside the cultivation department. The Irrigation Specialist is responsible for maintaining correct nutrient concentrations in accordance with both the irrigation schedule and the production schedule. The schedule will be communicated and assigned by the Irrigation Supervisor. The specialist will be responsible for assisting with data collection and is responsible for ensuring all tasks are being executed properly. This position reports directly to the Irrigation Supervisor.
Responsibilities

  • Ensures that irrigation and fertigation functions are completed in accordance to the cultivation schedule
  • Monitoring and reporting the nutrient concentrations within the growing media by completing weekly pour through soil testing
  • Monitoring and reporting the moisture content of the growing media throughout the entire cultivation cycle
  • Assisting with the maintenance of all facets of the irrigation system including but not limited to, irrigation pumps, solenoid valves, and ball valves
  • Installation of new irrigation lines and emitters
  • Troubleshooting the irrigation system as needed
  • Restocking nutrient stock tanks
  • Sanitation of the Irrigation Room, stock tanks, and all irrigation lines after a cultivation cycle
  • Confirming accuracy through calibration of all data collection tools
  • Collecting environmental data to better understand shifts in the nutrient program
  • Executing, modifying and implementing Standard Operating Procedures provided by Temescal Wellness
  • Tracking and reporting the inventory of Irrigation based on established PAR levels

Requirements

  • A degree or certificate in Horticulture or related field preferred
  • 2 year's experience as Irrigation or Cultivation Technician required
  • Greenhouse, Floral or Vegetable crop experience required
  • Ability to multi-task with excellent follow through skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High-energy, enthusiasm and the willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done
  • Thorough knowledge of all Temescal Wellness cultivation protocols, policies and procedures
  • Proficient at all tasks in relation to Cultivation
  • Willingness to teach/train production associates who need assistance
  • Have a trained cultivator’s eye. Ex. When procedures aren’t being executed properly, call attention
  • Fluent in seed-to-sale software
  • Ability to problem-solve and take initiative
  • Ability to collaborate with the production teams effectively
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Skilled in general computer operating systems and applications, including G Suite
  • Ability to visually examine products for quality and signage/labeling accuracy
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
  • 1+ year(s) of cultivation experience
  • Ability to bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds
  • Ability to to stand on hard surface for extended periods
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, cutting and fine manipulation
  • Experience training and supervising others
  • Outstanding problem-solver

Compensation and Benefits:

Work Hours:
The Irrigation Specialist role is a full-time position. Employees will be expected to arrive for their shift starting at 7:30 am and fulfill their duties by the end of the workday at 4:00 pm. Cultivation is a 7 day-a-week operation and each employee’s schedule will be determined by the cultivation manager.
