Position Overview
Provides support to end users on a variety of issues including identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems, responding to telephone calls, emails, and personnel requests for technical support, and documents, tracks, and monitors problems to ensure a timely resolution. Must be familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensures that consistent practices are used throughout the company to maintain the integrity of the systems.
- Will support primarily the Boston office but will also help support our remote users.
- Will be responsible for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support.
- Provide day-to-day user support including desktops/laptops, servers, phones, printers, and system security
- Maintain help desk queue.
- Includes the setup and configuration of wireless devices such as cell phones.
- Assists users with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.) related questions which can range from basic to advanced questions.
- Ensures helpdesk documentation and knowledge bases are up to date and correct.
- Maintains hardware and software inventory.
- Assess end-user needs and recommends system or software tools that can be used to fulfill these needs
- Provide ongoing system-related training for new and current employees.
- Coordinates installation of new hardware/software and monitors the operation of computer hardware and software.
- Evaluates and resolve user problems.
- Responsible for helping maintain local IP phone systems.
- May perform other duties as required.
Experience
- Strong experience in Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, MS Office Office365, and Outlook/Exchange
- Systems administration and integration of servers, switches, routers, and desktops
- Experience with administering mobile and IP phones.
- Scripting experience a plus
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule as required
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or equivalent industry experience in an IT
- Food and beverage industry experience a plus.
- 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Demonstrated expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Good problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Must be willing to be flexible in work hours to get projects or maintenance done
- Ability to coach and train a workforce with various degrees of technical capabilities.
