JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the IT Infrastructure Manager, installs, configures, and supports local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), wireless infrastructure, VoIP infrastructure, or a segment of a network system. Maintains network hardware and software. Monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users and performs necessary maintenance to support network availability. Plans, coordinates, and implements network security measures.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work closely with the IT Infrastructure Manager to plan and implement IT projects consistent with organizational objectives
- Design, implement, configure, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure
- Provide network support with a variety of operating systems
- Install and configure computer network equipment
- Maintain network connectivity of all computer workstations
- Develop and monitor policies for the use of network resources
- Monitor the network to ensure optimal performance
- Test release of products to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility
- Develop specifications, procedures, and documentation for the network
- Research and recommend systems and hardware in accordance with organizational objectives
- Coordinate with vendors for the installation and support of network systems
- Provide network support for all software and hardware problems reported by users
- Troubleshoot issues at multiple levels ranging from high-level network administration to desktop support
- Respond after hours for troubleshooting network issues
- Create technical support documentation and network diagrams
- Assist with the corporation’s annual meeting IT needs
- This position will service all departments and subsidiaries
- Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION:
- This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) years of experience with desktop platforms
- Three (3) years of experience with Windows Server
- Three (3) years of experience with routers, switches, and VPN’s
- Strong desktop support skills, including but not limited to: hardware troubleshooting and repair, MS operating systems, MS Office Suite, general computer support, and troubleshooting.
- At least three years (3) of hands-on experience in Active Directory
- Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts
- Proven network operations and network performance analysis skills
- Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of computing infrastructures
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- May require occasional travel and after-hours work
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Related industry certifications (MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP)
- Two (2) years of experience in a network administrator or network technician role
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. There is a 40-hour on-site work week with on-call availability. Some travel may be required.
