Metric is looking to hire a Technology Project Manager to join our Lake Mary team. The right candidate will be responsible for applying knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technology to support integration, networking (Layer 2 and 3) and document development (i.e. specifications, planning documents, etc.) activities on transportation technology related project deployments.
Day-to-Day:

  • Provide technical guidance and support for systems integration, connected vehicle, maintenance, and information technology groups.
  • Network Engineering & Architecture/Design Support, Systems Integration, Configuration, troubleshooting, Server Administration, Network Security (Firewalls) and Emerging Technologies (i.e. Connected Vehicles)
  • Ensure quality control procedures are adhered to for all deliverables submitted to clients.
  • Develop technical write ups and papers such as Technical Memorandums, Network Documentation, proposal write-ups, technical studies and research documents.
  • Responsible for providing senior level expertise on decisions and priorities regarding the enterprise’s overall systems architecture. Facilitates the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions.
  • Reviews, advises and designs standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs vs. benefits and impact on the enterprise business process and goals.
  • Responsible for high-level network planning, design, and optimization.
  • Develops strategies and direction for network systems solutions using current and emerging technologies (including wireless).
  • Leads, directs, supervises and coordinates the work of other technicians and coordinates with others who assist in the specific project or assignment.
  • May provide consultation on complex integration projects and is expected to be a high-level contributor and specialist.
  • Performs tasks throughout the State of Florida with the potential availability to travel outside the state. Light to moderate travel is anticipated.

What You Should Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology related area and 5+ years of experience
  • Extensive experience with commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the IT, ITS or Tolling operations field.
  • Experience with information and communication technologies, including fiber optic communication, video systems engineering, traveler information, electronic payment and traffic control systems as well as project management tools.
  • Knowledge of Layer 2/3 LAN/WAN networks and security.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic technology as it relates to ITS, and Tolling equipment deployments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server OS
  • Experience with common network protocols
  • 5+ years plus of IT experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network planning, architecture design, security, engineering (hardware and software) and optimization.
  • 5+ years plus experience with projects/ systems/issues of medium to high complexity surrounding network planning, configuration, and optimization.
  • Connected Vehicle Technology Experience Preferred

Certifications:

  • CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent Preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
