As an IT SERVICES SUPPORT TECHINICAN, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
-
Providing first response resolution to a variety of support calls, emails, walk-ins, and tickets submitted to the queue.

Evaluating and resolving user problems with a wide variety of hardware, software, and technology related services.
-
Resourceful, pro-active, quick-thinking to troubleshoot for remote and on-site, new, and critical technical issues as they arise
-
Monitoring the operation and availability of hardware, software, and network services to ensure they meet the organization’s needs on an ongoing basis
-
Managing configuration and administration of software and systems supported internally or provided by vendor partners, such as corporate POS systems.

Installing and providing ongoing support for PCs, laptops, printers, and other personal/departmental computing equipment
-
Developing and maintaining documentation pertaining to standards, procedures, and techniques for administration, change management, and problem resolution
-
Providing excellent customer service and experience, with an awareness of prioritization of tasks, urgency, stakeholders, budget, and time
-
Maintaining an accurate inventory list of active and inactive systems.
-
Administering, configuring, testing, modifying, and deploying company’s internal intranet site using Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365.
-
Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
-
All other duties based on business needs.

You have basic knowledge about local area networks (LAN), network domains, DNS, DHCP, and TCI/IP.
-
Ability to learn new software systems and train end users on proper application.
-
Ability to support company sites by traveling quickly to remote sites by personal vehicle approximately 40% of the time.
-
Serving after-hours on-call rotation, periodic weekend work to provide support for critical business systems.
-
Performing basic SQL database administration and configuration.
The good news is that we have an amazing training program that will help teach you everything you need to sharpen your skills and build upon your strengths as IT Services Support Technician, but there are a few skills you should have from the get-go:
-
Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field or any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position.
-
A+ Certification or MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) preferred.
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience working with hardware configurations such as, but not limited to, Network Servers, Remote desktop help, installation, and configuration of software/hardware.
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience working with/installing/configuring general office machines, laptops, printers, copiers, pc, etc.
-
1 or more years’ experience in help desk support
-
Business intelligence software (Power BI), Power Apps and Administering Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.
-
Excellent communication ability and able to effectively communicate with individuals of various educational and socio-economic backgrounds.
