Duties

Provides vulnerability management related policy guidance, and standards for the planning, development, integration, implementation, and evaluation of information technology (IT) systems and subsystems that meet overall information needs of multiple major organizational units.

Provides authoritative analysis and guidance in developing solutions for problems associated with agency-wide technology programs.

Manages the implementation of security programs/projects designed to anticipate, assess, and minimize system vulnerabilities.

Serves as a key advising role to Information Technology Security Division (ITSD) Director when implementing new vulnerability notifications, remediation strategies to stakeholders.

Provides advice, guidance, and assistance to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in formulating and enunciating Office of Justice Programs (OJP) policies, position and responses to current, emerging and anticipated IT Security matters and their applicability to OJP.

MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifying experience for the GS-13 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-12 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position

Examples of specialized experience at the GS-12 level include: Developing policies, guidelines, and/or standards for the planning, development, integration, implementation, and/or evaluation of information technology (IT) systems and subsystems that meet overall information needs of multiple major organizational units; coordinating major agency wide IT security vulnerability management program efforts; developing long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and/or minimized risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities; providing analysis and guidance in developing solutions for problems associated with agency-wide information protection and risk programs.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as described above will be further evaluated based upon the following technical qualifications:

Knowledge of information systems security operations, techniques, and standards.
Ability to plan and execute work.
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of IT project planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation.
