PTCOA is looking for an IT Support Specialist to help with our growing practice.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The IT Support Specialist is the go to person for users’ computer hardware and software needs providing first level support for all PTCOA’s IT infrastructure. The IT Support Specialist is responsible for troubleshooting issues and providing solutions. Beyond day to day the IT Support Specialist will assist the IT Director by contributing to long term projects as deemed by the business.

JOB DUTIES

Utilizes the PTCOA IT Service Desk Request Management System to receive, prioritize, and manage work via tickets and to track time and progress to resolution. Monitors status of assigned active requests, revises priority status as needed; follows up on assigned service requests to ensure resolution; and coordinates and confers with assigned staff on progress and changes in schedule / status.

  • Administer all IT equipment including computers, printers, and VOIP phones.
  • Install and troubleshoot software in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and DHCP.
  • Preform networking functions between TCP/IP and Windows networks.
  • Provide support, monitor, and troubleshoot issues related to Microsoft Windows 7, 10, and Server 2016 operating systems.
  • Provide support, monitor, and troubleshoot issues with Microsoft Office 365 and Office 2016 applications.
  • Provide support, monitor, and troubleshoot issues with VOIP phone systems.
  • Provide support, monitor, and troubleshoot issues with Cisco networking hardware is a plus.
  • Maintain computer hardware/software inventory.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong customer service and prompt problem-solving skills including the ability to provide diligent, prompt, and courteous responses to user questions or computer/network issues.
Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Science with a minimum (2) years work experience or (4) years equivalent certification/work experience. CompTia A+ certified and CompTia Network+ Certified is a plus. Must have a working knowledge of HIPAA’s Privacy Rule, audit requirements, and minimum necessary requirements. Certifications from the Foundation of Information Privacy and Data Protection, or a related entity, is preferred, as well as experience in a SQL / .NET environment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are expected to fluctuate but at a minimum this position will be required to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday through Thursday) and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Friday), and occasionally after regular business hours. Travel may be required.
