API Heat Transfer is looking for people who enjoy being part of transformation. As a global leader in the design and manufacture of a wide range of specialty heat exchangers and heat transfer solutions, API Heat Transfer has a legacy of industry-leading performance that can be traced back more than 130 years. Throughout our history, we’ve built a corporate culture based on reliability and superior performance – from our innovative technologies to the people behind them.

Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for Midwest, REMOTE-based IT Systems Administrator candidates! Candidates located in the following states will be considered: MI, OH, IN, IL, WI, MN, MO, NY, and PA.

What We Offer You:

  • Ability to be involved in implementing new technologies to support global business growth and develop your capabilities
  • Be part of a small and nimble team with opportunity to help with multiple technical projects where you can learn and expand your skills
  • Did we mention this is a remote position? Yes, yes, it is!
  • A full health & welfare benefits program, 401(k) + match, and PTO

What You Will Do:

The IT Systems Administrator will collaborate with the team on IT infrastructure (~80%) to include: installing, maintaining, upgrading, and managing complete IT systems, software, hardware, servers and networks; implementing the cyber security roadmap; and managing existing security tools. This position will also participate with the team in help desk ticket resolution (~20%), supporting both our corporate office and manufacturing plant sites, remotely and occasionally onsite. Key responsibilities:

  • Execute IT roadmap projects at local, regional, and/or global levels
  • Manage VMware and Azure virtual server environments for on premise and cloud
  • Oversee existing patch management tool, Desktop Central Cloud, for servers and endpoints
  • Manage LANs, WANs, network segments, internet, and intranet systems
  • Assist in defining and deploying standards for server, network, application, and cyber security
  • Evaluate networks and system performance to ensure security and 99.9% availability (well, that’s what we strive for anyway!)
  • Provide technical support via help desk for corporate and plant related tickets

What You Bring:

  • We are a team and a collaborative, roll-up your sleeves approach is required to be successful!
  • Continuous learning mindset and ability to apply a wide range of new skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, maturity to take direction, and humility to ask for help from the team
  • Associates degree in Information Technology and at least 2 years’ experience managing on premise and cloud server infrastructure, LANs, firewalls, Office365 administration, and endpoint protection
  • Certification in one of the following: Windows server, Office365, Azure, VMware, cyber security, CompTIA Network or Security +
  • Technical must haves: experience with firewalls, network switches, MS Server Management
  • Industry experience needs to include working at a manufacturer and familiarity with a plant floor
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for support and implementations, primarily to locations in WI, IL, and NY when needed
