As the IT Technician I, the primary responsibility is to support the production floor and office technology – this includes (but is not limited to): computer hardware, mobile hardware, monitors, monitor stands, docking stations, cabling, printers, scanners, scan guns, keyboards/mice, etc. The IT Technician will be responsible for managing the IT inventory and security of inventory, ensuring adequate resources are always available on-site. IT Technician is responsible for new-user orientations and onboarding, providing an overview on all required technology and security processes. Topics include: multi-factor (or 2-factor) authentication, Windows overview, Microsoft Office Suite overview, VPN, Virtual Telephones, MS Teams, Printers, Network, etc. IT Technician will work with the IT MSP to troubleshoot tickets that require on-site support. Primary interactions with MSP will be with hardware support and software support as needed.

There is opportunity to grow in this position; there are multiple IT projects that are ongoing in the company’s ever-expanding technology area.

Job Duties:

Supporting the on-site technology:

o The IT Technician will need a wide range of troubleshooting skills from hardware to software, networking, and cybersecurity. Majority of issues will be on hardware, but fundamental knowledge on application troubleshooting, network troubleshooting, and cybersecurity troubleshooting is a must.

o Knowledge of older Windows OS a plus

Management of IT Inventory:

o This includes all new hardware and all old hardware. Need to make sure these critical resources are always available to ensure as little downtime as possible for the production floor.

New User Orientations

o Ensuring our new users have a smooth onboarding is critical. It is important to take the time to explain the complexities of using our equipment and processes. Communication skills are a must when translating these technologies to users of differing technology skills.

Work with IT MSP on ticket resolution

o The IT Technician will be the first point of contact for the IT MSP. If they need assistance resolving an issue, the IT Technician will work with them till resolution. The IT Technician will engage the Sr. IT Tech for level-2 support and escalations.

AbelConn Electronics is ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS 9100 registered, Nadcap Accredited, NASA-STD-8739 supplier and all job duties are to be performed per the appropriate documented instructions.

Job Specifications:

Requirements include a minimum of Associates Degree in computer science field and 3 years of IT support experience or equivalent. Requires expert hardware/software knowledge and a troubleshooting skill. Requires good communication, organization skills and analytical skills. Nice to have: network troubleshooting skills, wide exposure to technology in manufacturing and cybersecurity education/exposure.

AbelConn is a US ITAR facility and positions with AbelConn involve the release of export controlled goods either directly to employees or through the employee’s movement within the facility. As such, AbelConn will require necessary information from all applicants upon an applicant’s acceptance of employment to determine if any export control exemptions or licenses must be filed.
