The Salvation Army Apache Junction Corp is looking to fill a part time Janitor/Pantry position. The successful person for this position will be a service minded team player with the ability to work independently and show initiative.
The Janitor/Pantry Worker will prepare food boxes in advance for distribution using available supplies and ensure rotation of food on a regular basis. This person will assist the driver with unloading separating and putting away donated food while maintaining the cleanliness of the food pantry and equipment. Janitorial responsibilities will include cleaning all common use spaces on a schedule, emptying and changing liners for trash receptacles, breaking down all boxes and cleaning the patio area weekly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must be a service minded team player with the ability to work independently and show initiative
- Required to successful pass a criminal background check
- Must have or obtain a Food Handlers certificate within 30 days of employment.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Understand and carry out instructions related to the use of equipment and use it in a safe manner
- Ability to work within established policy guidelines and accept directions and follow instruction
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. Employment is contingent upon passing the physical examination as mentioned above. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer and to understand written information.
