Title: JBOSS Systems Administrator

Location: Remote

Job Description:

The Defense and Intelligence group at Leidos currently has an opening for a JBOSS Systems Administrator. This position is dedicated to the support of the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) Enterprise Human Resource application and related systems located in San Antonio, TX, supporting over 900,000+ DoD civilian personnel records and users. DCPDS is a highly available, mission-critical, computing infrastructure in which the candidate must be willing to work on a team of multiple administrators supporting a 7X24 on-call rotating schedule. The candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks. The successful candidate will perform system administrator duties such as configuring and tuning JBOSS systems and performing scheduled maintenance on the JBOSS system to incorporate patches and/or enhancements.

Primary Responsibilities:
Maintains systems in accordance with established policies, procedures, and SLAs. Implements and monitors Information Assurance procedures. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve the optimum level of performance. Ensures server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Enforces standard operating procedures. Conducts routine hardware and software audits of servers for compliance with established standards, policies, configuration guidelines, and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

• Possess an active DOD Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) upon starting in position to obtain a DOD IT-1 designation in a Position of Trust
• Possess a current Security+ CE certification (or higher) upon starting in position
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting JBOSS systems that support and interface with Oracle databases and applications
• Experience with managing and maintaining JBOSS systems configuration
• Knowledge of Storage Area Network (SAN) configuration, management, and troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fundamental Cloud Computing Skills with working knowledge of securing and maintaining cloud services
• Basic knowledge of working on systems in a controlled environment with configuration management oversight (software releases, implementing standard configurations, etc.)
• Working knowledge in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Oracle Linux
• Familiarity with software development processes
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Effective interpersonal skills and team-oriented individual
• Working knowledge of Java Virtual Machine (JVM) operation and tuning
• Strong skills for diagnosis and troubleshooting issues, root cause analysis as well as identifying system bottlenecks in order to tune the application and system as necessary
• Skilled with Redhat7.x with experience in troubleshooting system administration activities
• Ability to automate processes at the operating system level
• Experience with networking and server builds and deployment
• Experience with FUSE
• Working knowledge of PKI certificate installation and maintenance
