We are looking for Jr. Building Engineer who will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs at our facility in Anaheim. We rely heavily on this position for any maintenance issues and we use third-party vendors as a last resort! Responsibilities will vary day to day.

The ideal candidate will be someone with at least 2-3 years of experience working in an Industrial environment. You will be working with our Senior Facilities Engineer. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to learn and improve their skills.

Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm

Responsibilities:

  • The Jr. Building Engineer will Maintain safety standards and ensure that the facility and equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner
  • Perform routine operational/safety inspections of premises and equipment
  • Repair, troubleshoot and perform ongoing maintenance tasks on building infrastructure and key equipment
  • Respond to repair requests quickly and in a professional manner
  • Handle emergency maintenance tasks and repairs as needed
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks based on a schedule created by facility management
  • Work on special assignments that focus on one-time improvements to the facility and operations
  • Establish and assist with Lock Out/Tag Out programs, Hot Work permits, confined space entry programs, facility emergency response plans and other required safety programs
  • Support the implementation of new programs and processes that reduce short and long-term operating costs and increase productivity
  • Recommend and develop areas for improvement in building and equipment maintenance practices
  • Maintain, diagnose and repair commercial, HVAC systems with split/package units, heat pumps, rooftop units as well as air filtration units
  • Assist with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, critical systems, generator and other related site needs
  • Maintain accurate records of tools, materials, workload, and activities and adhere to preventative maintenance program schedule
  • The Jr. Building Engineer will help maintain compliance with government regulations and OSHA requirements
  • Work on several projects simultaneously, prioritize work as required, and communicate workload status to manager and Senior management as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Driver’s License required
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant industrial building maintenance experience with proven technical ability
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of conveyor systems, electrical test equipment, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, scan optics, pneumatics, fire sprinkler systems, OSHA regulations and regulatory/DOT
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a forklift certification
  • Must have prior experience operating a powered industrial truck, preferably cherry picker and stand-up forklifts
  • Ability to read blueprints, repair manuals, and/or parts catalogs
  • Close attention to detail and safety
  • Self-motivated with communication, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Certification in workplace hazardous materials, hazardous waste management preferred
  • Must be computer literate. Be able to utilize Microsoft Outlook and learn warehouse management system
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
  • Electrical license a plus
  • Must be able to pass drug screen, E-Verify, and background check
