RRD has a great opportunity for a Jr .Net Developer to join our team!
This position is part of the Composition Services team within the eCommerce Solutions group. The team is responsible for building and maintaining services that provide document creation, management, and workflow solutions for some of RRD's largest clients. Members of this team interface with other development teams, customer service teams, and client contacts in the development and support of composition services used as part of RRD's flagship eCommerce ordering platform, CustomPoint.
Position Summary
The Developer will work with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions that are aligned with business and IT strategies. He/She will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting applications and systems software.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes moderately complex business requirements and performs feasibility studies for projects typically of medium scope and complexity.
- Analyze environmental requirements, conversion requirements and file structures between systems.
- Utilize JIRA in support of Agile development methodologies. Utilize Google Docs and MS Office to manage project documentation.
- Develop and maintain code utilizing structured programming techniques.
- Develop system and system integration test plans. Develop system test data and performs system, integration, parallel and stress tests for projects.
- Provide input to peers, management and customers for recommendations and alternate solutions and/or improvements.
- Prepare design documentation for the design projects assigned.
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Required Skills
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or discipline related to functional work or role with 3-5 years of relevant work experience OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
- 2+ years experience with .NET and MS SQL Server development.
- 1+ years experience developing and supporting web services using multiple protocols – REST, SOAP, JSON.
- Experience with use of style sheets and mark up languages to create formatted output would be a strong plus.
- Experience with composition workflows and applications ( Adobe Creative Suite, Pageflex, XMPie, RenderX, DL Pager, PDF api’s) would be a plus.
- Must be able to demonstrate a very good understanding of the information technology environment/infrastructure utilized for the job and be able to identify and resolve moderately complex challenges associated with the work.
- Must have very good understanding of information/data management concepts.
- Must be able to effectively analyze and solve non-routine work related problems.
- Requires very good communication skills with ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand.
- Must be able to proactively listen to others to understand issues and situations.
- Must be able to clearly articulate business needs to both internal and external customers.
