- THIS POSITION IS ON SITE IN FRIDLEY, MN -
Grow with our team as an Jr Systems Administrator at our Furniture Mart USA office in Fridley, MN!
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, solid technical experience, and a desire to provide excellent service to our internal customers.
- Setting up new users and giving them access to the intranet
- Managing and maintaining the file servers
- Monitoring the internet connection for security risks
- Employing the latest security protocols
- Monitoring the local area network (LAN) for threats or errors
- Maintain hardware inventory
- Create technical documentation (IT Knowledgebase/wiki pages)
- Hardware maintenance and repair
- Storage and VM System backups and testing
- Maintain both physical and virtual server environments consisting of Windows, Linux and AIX operating systems
- Maintain security in an enterprise environment
- Administer email and anti-virus systems
- Monitor system performance and troubleshooting issues
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to solve problems in stressful situations
- Strong attention to detail
- Communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to inexperienced users
- Time management skills
- A minimum two-year degree from a college or technical school WITH one to three years of related experience
- Proficiency with Windows 10 and MS Office/Outlook
- Understanding of TCP/IP Network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, routing, and subnetting)
- Possess knowledge of operating systems, VMware or virtualization, Windows, AIX, Linux, etc.
- Dependent on sharing information and accurate documentation
- Be able to travel occasionally to our other locations
- Meet the essential physical requirements of the position including the ability to lift, run cables in ceilings, bend, crouch, stoop and climb
