General Requirements:

Martek Global Services, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Junior Accountant who will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will assist in overseeing various efforts of the accounting and bookkeeping matters within the Accounting Department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

In this position, the responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:

• Support duties related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Provide bookkeeping support for Martek and other subsidiary/related entities
• Assist in managing the corporate credit card accounts
• Provide support with various financial reports
• Provide support on month-end & year-end book closings
• Assist in the implementation and maintaining our accounting policies and procedures
• Assist in processing payroll
• Assist in processing invoices
• Other duties as assigned

Experience & Education Requirements:

Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or finance is preferred and are not required to have experience. Candidates must have a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Accounting or Finance with two year's experience.

Qualified candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with MS Excel required.

• Excellent customer service skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Creative and innovative techniques for performing assignments with ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Communicate effectively with co-workers, clients, company guests, etc.
• Coordinate projects, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments with minimum direction and using excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
• Quickbooks experience is a plus
• Experience in a government contracting environment a plus
