Position Summary:
As a Junior Tech Support Scientist, you will be responsible for responding to incoming technical inquiries from customers with questions about Bio-Techne products. In doing so, you will provide technical assistance and sales assistance, including preparation of simple quotes. This is an excellent, entry-level opportunity for someone looking to use their life sciences knowledge in a customer-facing role with a quickly growing global biotechnology company!
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming customer inquiries by phone, email, and chat regarding product questions and techniques, procedures, and basic troubleshooting requests
- Document all customer interactions in the CRM
- Manage and supports customer requirements to understand, anticipate, and meet their needs
- Support efforts of the Marketing and Sales Departments by cross-selling, product ordering, and developing consultation sales quotations
- Effectively resolve customer complaints and process replacement orders as needed
- Escalate advanced customer issues as needed
- Maintain technical resources including FAQs and product citation reviews
- Document recurring technical issues to support product quality programs and product development
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another life sciences related field
- Minimum 0-5 years of customer facing and/or lab experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to type a minimum of 50+ words per minute and navigate multiple computer systems
- Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to establish and maintain strong customer relationships
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment demanding the ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks and multitask
- Ability to maintain a basic knowledge base of Bio-Techne products
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills in response to obstacles
- Ability to use de-escalation, negotiation, and sales techniques in working with customers
- Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform at a high level of accuracy
