General Job Description:
CGL is soliciting resumes for the position of Justice Planner to join our experienced staff in the Columbia office. Typical projects include planning for courthouse, jail and juvenile facilities and general government facility space planning to include: data analysis, facility standards research, functional and operational facility planning, justice system analysis, space programming, and report writing. Our planning process is integrated with the architectural and design components of our projects, which often involves the Planner’s involvement in building layout and site issues. Our approach to planning is holistic and seeks to promote the use best practices, and promote evidence-based research in our projects. Candidates are not expected to have direct experience with this focused specialty, but will learn it on the job.

Minimum Education and Training:
As most of our clients are government administrators and executives, we are seeking mature candidates with excellent communication skills and professionalism. Candidate should also have:

• Degree in planning, design, public administration, criminal justice, or a related program
• Strong writing skills
• Effective research abilities
• Statistical analysis capability with experience with a software tool a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with planning software tools a plus
• Positive attitude and collaborative spirit
