The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply and grow their skillset involving juvenile and family law, immigration policy, immigration legal representation, and work with a motivated and entrepreneurial team to engage with a wide range of stakeholders in serving our clients.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Juvenile and Family Law Policy SMS you will:

  • Provide child welfare law expertise to consult on cases and provide input on analysis of government policies and directives
  • Function as a trusted advisor for clients to resolve complicated and time sensitive issues involving child welfare issues and legal access standards
  • Conduct analysis and research and prepare reports to support the implementation of programs and policies regarding parental interests and legal access
  • Facilitate development of training programs, educational efforts, and other activities to assist detention facilities in meeting or exceeding mandated standards
  • Create resources such as FAQ sheets, best practice guides, and informational flyers for internal and external stakeholders
  • Advise clients as they develop and implement program policies and procedures to improve legal access at facilities and/or address child welfare issues
  • Analyze data to identify trends in child welfare and legal access cases
  • Review and edit memorandums, policy papers, and tools on legal access and/or child welfare issues
  • Minimum Qualification:
  • US Citizenship required
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain security Clearance
  • Master’s degree in social work, public policy, or another relevant field
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of total work experience, with at least three (3) years' experience working on child welfare, legal access and/or immigration law-related issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in basic desktop applications, including MS office (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, etc.)
  • Ability to conduct data driven analysis to inform policy, operations, or strategic initiatives
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Ability to multi-task and stay flexible in a dynamic work environment
  • Additional Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate degree (JD) preferred but not required
  • Experience working in/with immigration policy and immigration legal representation/access issues
  • Professional direct client facing experience with government executives at the Senior Executive Series level
