POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Kitchen Operations Director and in accordance with the Christian mission and purpose of the Great Miami Valley (GMV) YMCA Association, Kitchen Staff is responsible for general clean-up in the kitchen area and for serving meals in the dining hall.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepares cooked meals for campers and visitors of the dining hall.
  • Cleans all kitchen utensils, pots, and pans in the dish sink and runs the dishwasher.
  • Ensures that food preparation areas are clean and hygienic.
  • Cleans public bathroom in the dining hall daily.
  • Mops the kitchen floor at the end of the day. Cleans the main dining hall floors on a regular basis.
  • Empties garbage cans into the dumpster. Keeps the area around the dumpsters clear and clean of debris.
  • Helps store all food orders.
  • Helps serve food at mealtimes.
  • Reports any maintenance problems in a timely manner to the Camp Director and the appropriate maintenance staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Ability to work an 8-hour shift in a hot and humid dish room environment.

  • Ability to clean areas using cleaning solutions and personal protective equipment.
