THIRA Health seeks a full time Kitchen Supervisor who will be directly responsible for the successful operation of the Food and Nutrition Department in a healthcare environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for all food service-related activities which include:

  • Supervising the daily operations of the kitchen area (weekends will be required)
  • Implementing the production process
  • Helping manage food cost/labor cost and having an overall understanding of HACCP, under the direction of the kitchen manager
  • You will also be responsible for developing, mentoring, and coaching internal associates.
  • Implementation of systematic production methods
  • Standardized recipes
  • Portion control
  • Menu development and purchasing requirements.
  • In carrying out assigned responsibilities, the kitchen supervisor must comply with all client policies and regulatory agencies.
  • Successful candidates will have previous supervisor and food service management experience.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of culinary/kitchen experience
  • Catering experience a plus
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
  • Scratch cooking experiences
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
  • ServSafe certified - highly desirable
  • Must be able to successfully complete criminal background checks (State and Federal)

Requirements:

  • Ability to demonstrate proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 by 10/18/21 or date of hire if after 10/18/21. Reasonable accommodations will be considered.
  • Minimum of 1 year line cooking experience in healthcare or restaurant setting
  • Food Handler Card Required

THIRA’s Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Kathryn Korslund, transitioned to THIRA after spending her career as research scientist at UW’s Behavioral Research & Therapy Clinics (BRTC) and working alongside Dr. Marsha Linehan on further developing and evaluating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Our Chief Finance & Operations Officer, David Krekel-Zoppi, came to THIRA after nearly a decade at Virginia Mason Medical Center and more recently having managed business and operations with Dr. Mehri Moore at The Moore Center.
