OVERVIEW:
The Utility Worker works under the supervision of the Food Service Manager and plays a supporting role in The Salvation Army San Francisco Kitchen.
DUTIES:
  • Deliver and pick up food and containers each day from the various congregate sites.
  • Perform general janitorial duties as assigned by Food Services Manager.
  • Assist in food and meal preparation and serving as needed.
  • Clean and care for food service equipment and food preparation areas.
  • Remove garbage from kitchen areas and assist with recycling.
  • Respond to emergencies required by the Food Services Manager, Sous Chef, and/or Executive Director.
  • All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current driver’s license and ability to pass and maintain a TSA driver certificate.
  • Good verbal and communication skills.
  • Experience in driving in a city environment preferred.
  • Current food handlers’ certificate or ability to obtain the within the introductory period.
  • Tuberculosis clearance verification provided within seven days of employment
  • Current and valid CPR, First Aide, and AED training certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually supply boxes)
