Department Summary
KNTU 88.1 FM is licensed to UNT and is on the air 24 hours, every day of the year. KNTU 88.1 FM is housed within the Department of Media Arts. Media Arts provides a liberal arts education that empowers students as creative media producers and critical consumers. We prepare students with the principles, skills, critical thinking, and opportunities to succeed in an ever-changing media environment.

Position Overview
This position will require the ability to direct and produce live event broadcasts.

Additional Posting Details

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and at least three years of sports broadcasting experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with sports broadcast play-by-play
  • Proficiency in audio and video operating and editing software
  • Ability to train and manage students

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with broadcast streaming software that will be used to stream content.

Required License / Registration / Certification

Work Schedule
Varies. 40 hours per week.

Job Duties

o
Supervise, hire, schedule and train student staff to produce various streaming broadcasts on university website media.unt.edu. Positions to include camera operators, graphics, play-by-play announcer, color commentary announcer, spotter, and commercial producers.

o
Train students to write, voice and produce sports casts, game summaries, highlights, and on-demand content.

o
Create game clocks for all sporting events that are broadcast that include commercial breaks breaks, pre-game show, half-time show, and post-game shows.

o
If KNTU has an agreement with Learfield to broadcast sports on KNTU, this position will be responsible for the training, scheduling and managing of board operators and producers for each broadcast.

Other duties as needed and assigned.
