Laboratory Technician I/II (FT)
Job description
HJF is seeking a Laboratory Technician I or II to perform basic to intermediate laboratory procedures. Assists and supports supervisors with testing and experiments in various areas of a laboratory as needed. Uses some judgement to define and resolve problems and make recommendations.
- Performs laboratory testing and experiments. Complies with laboratory quality assurance and quality control plans and procedures.
- Assists with data organization, analysis, and interpretation. Prepares data for inclusion in technical reports, presentation, summaries, manuscripts, and protocols.
- Maintains laboratory equipment and performs general monitoring, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
- Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories to potential inventions and products.
- Documents testing results and records observations in accordance with good practice quality guidelines and regulations (GxP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and protocol requirements,
- May assist with training of laboratory staff and managing and ordering laboratory supplies.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Technical knowledge of scientific disciplines.
- Knowledge of and skill in laboratory technique and handling biological and chemical hazards and their safe use and disposal.
Physical Capabilities:
- Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods
Qualifications
- This position will take place primarily in a laboratory setting.
- Associate's Degree
- Minimum of 0-2 years' experience required
Level II
- Associate's Degree, Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience required
