VCA Orange County Veterinary Specialists is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our one-of-a-kind 14 doctor Specialty and Emergency practice!
As a Laboratory Technician, you will work to ensure the lab is running efficiently to meet and/or exceed goals. The ideal candidate will have prior experience performing some clinical diagnostic testing.
- Process and prepare samples for in-house diagnostic testing (including blood, urine, feces, fluid and tissue samples).
- Process samples and prepare samples for send out to outside laboratories.
- Perform all required quality control per QA guidelines on laboratory equipment.
- Entering and releasing of results to practice management software.
- Responsible for the performance of tests such as Chemistry, CBC, Platelet Counts, PT/APTT, SNAP testing and setup of slides for microscopic analysis.
- Participate in all departmental training programs.
- Reconcile pending list and notify clients of any errors.
- Manage clinical trials if currently enrolled.
Qualifications:
- Required:

o Able to work Holidays and Weekends
o Excellent attention to detail; good organizational skills
o Excellent oral and written communications skills (will occasionally need to speak with sales reps, laboratory personnel from outside laboratories, and may need to speak with clients.)
o Exceptional at multi-tasking in a busy environment
o Passionate about patient care
o Terrific team player
