Flagger / Laborer in Region 7

An industry leader in asphalt preservation, Vestal Asphalt Inc. is hiring seasonal help in the northern tier of New York to join our team. Our work will include various NYSDOT roadways in Clinton, Franklin, Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties. The Job is estimated to start early April and end in late July early August. This position will work Monday through Friday (some weekends possible) - 40+ hours a week. All training provided.

We are looking for employees to work in Flagger/Laborer roles to be part of our Crack Seal Team. As a Flagger/Laborer you will be assigned to jobs as necessary to assist in the maintenance protection of traffic (MPT) and/or to fill various physical labor needs. This is a safety sensitive position.

Job duties responsibilities:
Follow safety policies and procedures.
Responsible for setting and maintaining traffic control zones and patterns on local, county, and state road construction projects.
Know or have the ability to learn traffic control regulations
Set up and provide safe work zones for Vestal Asphalt employees and the general public
Have a transportation to travel to different job sites throughout the work week
You must be capable of standing for long periods of time and walking long distances (5+ miles per day)
Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) pertaining to the job you are performing
Working in all weather conditions, especially heat
Strong verbal communication skills with your team
Provide outstanding customer service
Follow instructions and work independently
Have a keen eye for detail and sense of your surroundings
Have or the ability to obtain OSHA-10 Card and Flagger Certification

Qualifications:
Experience working on crack seal team or asphalt industry is preferred, however we will provide training for the right candidates
Valid driver's license
Ability to pass pre-employment screening including a drug test
