POSITION OVERVIEW
The Labs Coordinator, Documentary Edit is charged with supporting the final stages of selection, implementation, and onsite execution for Sundance Institute’s Documentary Edit and Story Lab and Contributing Editor Fellowship, which supports U.S. based as well as international projects in post-production as well as emerging editors.
Working closely under the Deputy Director and collaboratively with the Documentary Film Program (DFP) and Lab Operations team, the Labs Coordinator supports the successful execution of the Edit and Story Lab. This temporary position works full time from Monday, March 27, 2023 through Thursday, June 29, 2023. Extended hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed. This position may work remotely except when it is required to work onsite at the Sundance Resort during the Lab from Friday, June 16, 2023 to Saturday, June 24, 2023. Sundance Institute will provide meals and accommodations in a shared home when the position is living from the Resort.

Supporting the team with programmatic components of the Edit and Story Lab and the Contributing Editor Fellowship while upholding the Institute’s equity values.
Supporting the application review and selection process for the Edit and Story Lab and Contributing Editor Fellowship administratively, including research, collecting materials, creating and maintaining tracking grids, formatting acceptance and decline letters, and answering inquiries.
Conducting ongoing research for the Edit Lab and program artist support as needed.
Coordinating all aspects of the semi-finalist and final round of review for Edit and Story Lab and Contributing Editor Fellowship including staff meetings and external Committee review.
Creating Program and Lab presentation materials, bio sheets, and FAQ sheets.
Facilitating administrative duties for the Lab and Fellowship, including but not limited to maintaining calendars, timelines, scheduling, prepping, and compiling information.
Ensuring department databases are updated with submission and participant records.
Supporting daily onsite operations at the Edit and Story Lab including distributing daily schedules and ensuring frequent collaboration and communication across teams to maintain the flow of the daily schedule.
Providing additional onsite support as needed for the Contributing Editor track at the Edit and Story Lab.
Coordinating the mentor matching process for Contributing Editor fellows, including tracking potential mentors.
Working closely with the Deputy Director and Coordinator on all aspects of onsite implementation for the Edit and Story Lab and Contributing Editor Fellowship.
Creating and submitting payment requests as needed.
Participating and supporting strategic artist support events, as needed.
You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
2 years experience in operational program planning and implementation.
Some experience with documentary production, programming, or research.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong consultation, presentation, and meeting design skills.
Ability to interact effectively with a variety of people.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Knowledge and passion for global documentary film or human rights issues preferred.
