Job Title: Lamination Engineer

Location: Frazeysburg, OH

Schedule: 2nd Shift

Job Summary:

Ridge Corporation is a solution driven manufacturing company that brings concepts to life through the application of composites and advanced materials. We are seeking innovative manufacturing-oriented engineer candidates to help us create, develop, manufacture, and/or refine fiber reinforced thermoplastic and thermoset products that will meet the needs of current customers while expanding our reach into diverse markets and new client bases. Successful candidates will engage in manufacturing of high-performance composite panels and assist the manufacturing team in achieving high quality products while maintaining the production schedule. You will perform project related production engineering work including managing engineering communication to the production floor through process parameters, prints, risk mitigation and document control. Assist engineering with new product development through generating prototypes, performing DOE, identifying product improvements, testing, and failure analysis. Other related duties may include customer and vendor communication.

Requirements:

• BSME (Mechanical, Plastics) preferred
• General understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures.
• Must be able to work independently and direct production personnel to ensure orders are produced in a timely fashion and adhere to safety and quality standards in accordance with company policies and applicable laws and report issues to supervisor/Engineering Lead.
• Ability to work with and prepare production team to streamline lamination process based on basic and new production floor needs
• Ability to develop process parameters by researching and analyzing materials and manufacturing process and maintain up to date process parameters for lamination equipment for thermoplastic composites
• Perform document update, data entry/collection, production inventory management in ERP system
• Assist product engineering team with product testing to validate design/process performance
• Assist engineering departments with sketches/drawings, evaluating materials and suppliers, identifying and resolving design and manufacturability issues
• Ability to effectively communicate and present information to the operation (i.e., team members, leaders, and management)
• Proficiency of the basic Microsoft software packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook
• Willingness to integrate into a closely knit team
• Self -motivated, innovative, creative, and resourceful

Beneficial Skills:

• Knowledge and experience with thermoplastics processing parameters
• Knowledge and experience in the design and/or manufacturing of laminated composites
• CAD – solid model experience preferably in SolidWorks
• Experience with destructive and non-destructive testing and analysis
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principals
• ERP system (i.e., IQMS) experience
• ISO or QS Quality System experience
• Ability to muti-task and manage multiple projects and excellent time management skills
