Job DescriptionGeneral Laborer: including grounds keeping, litter control and other special projects assigned by the landfill manager. May work at both Coffee County Landfill and Brundidge Landfill as needed. Requires the ability to work both supervised and unsupervised, as well as part of a team. The principal duties of this class are performed in a landfill or heavy industrial environment. This position routinely operates equipment not limited to: agriculture tractors, utility vehicles, various lawn care equipment, and various County vehicles. Job Domains
Maintains and documents the Alabama Highway 125 litter pickup program.
Performs litter control activities within Coffee County Landfill
Operates assigned equipment as directed
Follows recommended preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment and perform maintenance functions as required
Follows the direction of the Landfill Manager
Keeps the Landfill Manager informed on issues regarding equipment and/or assigned projects
Assist in the servicing of assigned equipment as directed Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of and experience operating equipment commonly found in a landfill or associated with lawn care activities
- Knowledge of basic equipment preventative maintenance
- Ability to coordinate with regulatory personnel and other County departments
- Ability to communicate with others orally and in writing
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written policies and instructions Other Knowledge/Skills
