Job Title: Landscape Architect

Department: Vertex

Reports To: SENIOR EXECUTIVE CONSULTANT

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

SUMMARY

Landscape Architect to join Vertex, a small land development consulting firm who has recently contracted to perform consulting services for several large master planned communities to include both residential, commercial, and industrial uses. The developments are multi-phased over several years. Vertex is currently outsourcing all landscape architecture and needs someone to come onboard who has already successfully performed this type of work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Produces plans for the design, approval and development of projects
  • Prepares improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for master plans, subdivisions, commercial and industrial developments, multifamily developments, and any other necessary projects
  • Performs site analysis, material and code research; calculation of landscape areas and material quantities; grading impacts and cost estimates; and provides other supporting documentation for projects
  • Responsible for site renderings/illustrations including 3D renderings for 3D printing
  • Assist with CAD drawings for schematic design through construction documentation
  • Provides support to other divisions of the company

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Landscape Architecture and Design for both residential, commercial, and industrial community development

  • Experience with large phased developments
  • Experience with planning for utilities, grading, and drainage
  • Experience using Landscape Architecture software
  • A Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture, or equivalent education and/or experience
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team that includes planners, engineers, architects, and environmental scientists
  • Understanding of the approval and permitting process for land development projects
  • Understands and uses landscape architecture principles, codes, and standards in landscape architectural designs, including site planning, site layout and detailing, hardscape, grading, erosion control, planting design, and irrigation design
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of commonly used programs and procedures (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, SketchUp, and Photoshop) used in designing developments and landscape plans, landscape architectural systems (including irrigation systems), and report preparation
  • Understands client goals, project schedules, and budgets and has the ability to work efficiently within project guidelines
  • Communicates in a timely and effective manner within a team and with clients, various agencies, and other disciplines working on a project.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
