Job description
Microsoft Corporation has an immediate opening for a Law Enforcement Response Specialist to join its Law Enforcement and National Security (LENS) team. The successful candidate will be highly-organized, motivated, and comfortable with working both independently and as part of a global team.
LENS is an integral part of the Privacy and Regulatory Affairs (PRA) organization within Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA). The PRA organization is comprised of multiple teams responsible for Microsoft’s public policy and compliance practices relating to privacy, government regulatory issues, online safety, and lawful access. As part of PRA, the LENS team is responsible for balancing public safety and global trust in Microsoft through principled advocacy, and compliance with government demands that respect the rule of law and protect our customers’ privacy. LENS provides this support for Microsoft’s online services such as Hotmail & Outlook.com, OneDrive, Xbox Live, Skype, etc.

In addition to responding to legal demands, Specialists also assist other teams at Microsoft in support of the company’s commitments to customer security and digital safety. - Improving operational efficiencies by contributing to policies and procedures, and by providing feedback to engineering teams responsible for LENS-specific tools.
- Demonstrates an understanding of mapping or how systems work and impact one another.
- Collaborates with others who work with other teams (e.g., engineering, product groups) to ensure program processes are rigorous and executed efficiently. Helps develop processes around scope and scheduled changes for programs, and communicates them to stakeholders.
- Collaborates with others to understand overall business goals, objectives, and strategies, as well as short- and long-term business priorities.
- Understands and identifies current program risks, impact, and mitigation plans in collaboration with others.

Understanding Roles at Microsoft
The top of this page displays the role for which the base pay ranges apply – Business Program Management IC3.
The way we define roles includes two things: discipline (the type of work) and career stage (scope and complexity). The career stage has two parts – the first identifies whether the role is a manager (M), an individual contributor (IC), an admin-technician-retail (ATR) job, or an intern. The second part identifies the relative seniority of the role – a higher number (or later letter alphabetically in the case of ATR) indicates greater scope and complexity.

We also consider qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or the recruiting process, please send a request via the Accommodation request form.
