JM Family Holdings is seeking an Lead Accounting Analyst (Accounting and Data Lead) to join its Finance and Strategy team and help us scale for the future, in a fast-paced environment that’s growing rapidly. In this role you will support JM Family Holdings, leveraging your technical expertise with US GAAP, to quickly identify accounting implications and impacts while advising and collaborating with Platform and Parent team members cross-functionally to develop operational processes that help us scale.
Responsibilities:
- Build scalable accounting processes to support JM Family Holdings
- Perform month end accounting processes to support growth, including consolidation and analysis of JMF Holdings reporting, allocations, and liaison with JMF Parent
- Prepare flux analysis and potential commentary and explanation on movements and trends
- Partner closely with our Platform Companies to thoroughly understand financials, trends, new products, and advise on accounting implications
- Collaborate with JMF Parent to understand technical accounting analyses and implications to JMF Holdings companies
- Partner with JMF Parent Financial Systems and Accounting Policy & Financial Reporting teams to support internal financial systems and automation of JMF Holdings accounting processes
- Build and maintain data sets that support various departments, including HR, accounting, communications
- Be a self-starter and seek to standardize and centralize tasks
- Assess the effectiveness of JM Family Holdings internal controls, and design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities
- 6+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience
- B.A. or B.S degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
- Fluency in U.S. GAAP
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal
- Strong knowledge of Excel and experience working with large data sets
- Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience with internal controls (design, implementation and execution)
- Demonstrated history of taking on various types of challenging projects and producing results
- Solution-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for establishing best practices
- Experience in month end reporting and financial statement preparation
- The ability to bring structure to ambiguous areas of opportunity and thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving environment
- An enthusiastic “roll up your sleeves” mentality
- A passion for creating new systems and solving problems via infrastructure and automation
- Ability to be flexible and comfortable with changing requirements
