Here’s what you need to know:
As Lead Behaviorist, your primary objective is to ensure that each student adjusts to and thrives within the educational environment. You will work with the Social Support Team to provide supervision, behavior management, counseling, and monitor basic/non-basic needs of students in the school. You will also work with the School Leader, Dean of Students and Grade Level Chairs to provide maximum support for students, teachers, and parents.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

Joining our high school as a Lead Behaviorist comes with a lot of growth opportunities, but with great power comes great responsibility. Here are a few for this position:

• Hold consistently high expectations for student behavior
• Assist with arrival, lunchtime, and after school procedures
• Support the dean as needed
• Process referrals
• Make recommendations for student consequences
• Oversee after-school and in-school suspension
• Participate in student celebrations and incentive parties
• Ensure that school-wide discipline structures effectively support the school
• Hold parent meetings and conduct student home-visits as needed
• Participate in hiring for other members of the culture team
• Build positive relationships with students, balancing serving as mentor/counselor
• Exhibit positive rapport with students and staff
• Mediate issues between key stakeholders with warmth and empathy however be demanding and decisive.
• Establish and maintain strong communication lines with students and parents
• To perform other duties as assigned by the School Leader or Assistant Principal Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents, school personnel, and agencies associated with the school.
• Present during all school transitions

Must Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience working with high-school aged children
• Physical Demands: Ability to intervene in physical altercations

Compensation & Benefits

This role is paid on the behavior specialist scale, and will be paid an additional stipend.
