PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Lead Hardware and Technical Support Specialist will oversee technical support and service operations within the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversees and facilitates the installation and maintenance of IT systems, hardware, and software.
  • Identifies and recommends upgrades and changes to hardware and software, maintaining efficient and effective operations in the organization.
  • Facilitates and oversees the technical support and helpdesk roles, ensuring effective and helpful support is provided to end users.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in information technology, alerting senior staff of the effects widespread software and hardware revisions, changes, and discontinuation will have on the organization’s systems and operations.
  • Ensures IS-related projects and tasks are completed within specifications, on time, and within budget.
  • Valuates assigned networks and systems for performance, security, and other issues.
  • Analyzes data processing requirements to effectively plan a data processing system that will provide the system capabilities necessary for projected workloads.
  • Determines, suggests and plans layout for computers and peripheral equipment, including necessary changes to existing equipment and systems required to ensure efficient operation and effective use of allotted space.
  • Determines power supply requirements and configurations.
  • Assists users with software, hardware, connectivity, and related issues; provides training on new or modified equipment.
  • Ensures system operates in line with specifications by monitoring equipment functions.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Thorough understanding of technology, software, and hardware.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 or related software.
  • Proficient with or able to quickly learn the software and applications used in the organization and the industry.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to endure short, intermittent, and/or long periods of sitting and/or standing in the performance of job duties.
  • Ability to travel to all FoundCare offices and off-site locations and attend meetings, workshops, and seminars plus travel to other FoundCare departments and conference rooms.
  • Accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, e.g. pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboard, telephone, etc.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds over distances of up to 300 feet.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required or Technical Certifications
  • At least five years of related experience with at least one year in a supervisory role preferred.
