Career opportunity available in our Long Beach Region for a full-time Lead Mammography Technologist. Under the guidance and direction of the Site Manager and Regional Operations Manager the Lead Mammography Technologist will provide leadership to a team of technologists.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with the Regional Operations Manager and/or Site Manager to develop training, new employee onboarding, and standardized mammography competencies.
• Work with radiologists to help improve Technologist performance and adherence to protocols.
• Provide leadership and guidance for the technical staff and partner with Site Management for professional development of Mammography staff
• Responsible for being a knowledgeable resource for technologists; answering questions about protocols, diagnoses, equipment functionality building protocols, and how to maximize the speed and efficiency of the protocols.
• Provide quality control for performed exams as needed.
• Work with vendors or other manufacturers application teams when new equipment is installed.
• Identify inefficiencies and/or improvement opportunities in existing protocols, policies, and processes.
• Implement new protocols as needed.
• Provide training for other technologists.
• Support facilities by helping to maintain appropriate accreditation/credentialing as needed.
• Participate in meetings, projects, and/or trainings as needed.
• Travel as needed and complete other duties as assigned by management.

• CA State Licenses in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology and Mammography
• ARRT(R ) certification
• Completed a 40-hour initial mammography training course
• BLS certification issued by AHA
• Great communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for patient care
• 15 units of mammography related Continuing Education (CEU) done within the last 36 months
• 8-hours of training in digital mammography

• Preferred:

  • Completion of 25 supervised mammography exams
  • Mammography work experience
  • Previous continued experience that equals to 200 mammography exams within the last 24 months
  • 8-hours of training in tomosynthesis
  • ARRT(M) certification

  Pay Range: $46.00 - $49.00 / hour
