EmberHope Youthville, a leading provider of child welfare services throughout Kansas and San Antonio, Texas is currently seeking a Full-time Lead Residential Specialist for our Newton, KS location. This person will be responsible for ensuring a safe and secure teaching environment for youth and a working environment that encourages effective staff teamwork, interdependence and ethical behavior. Provide leadership within the cottage by serving as a role model in carrying out the EmberHope Youthville mission, values and vision.

How you will spend your time in this job:

• 50% Leads the cottage milieu by teaching and counseling youth and staff on appropriate skills and behaviors
• 35% Provide mentorship and support to Residential Specialists
• 10% Assist with appointment scheduling and stakeholder interactions as needed
• 5% Stock, inventory, and deliver purchased goods
• Participation in supervision, committees, agency-wide and staff meetings.

• Be 21 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Employee is required to have three semester hours of college-level study in adolescent development, psychology, or related subject or must be actively and continuously working toward the completion of the three semester hours.
• Two years of experience as a child care worker or house parent in a facility serving youth.
• Basic computer skills
• Maintain agency required certification/licensure.
• Have the ability to work various shift and weekends including overtime.
• Required to physically assist in the verbal and physical restraint of youth by utilizing appropriate SCM techniques. Physical restraint techniques include the ability to support another adult’s weigh, twisting and turning maneuver, and an overall intense physical exertion.

Pay: $14.50 - $18.50 per hour

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
