Job description
Peerless Technologies is the PRIME on a 5-year contract supporting the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico. The Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the system engineering related aspects of the contract and for coordinating, synchronizing, integrating and managing division priorities to meet AFMWC/NDS requirements and schedules. Uses nuclear systems expertise to develop executable plans and reports. Coordinates with external stakeholders to include National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Represents the division (as nuclear system engineer/analyst) for conflict resolution.
REQUIREMENTS
- An active DOD Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering and 12 years of relevant experience
- 8+ years of systems engineering experience relating to DoD projects, such as major weapons systems or major programs (e.g. ACAT). Experience in nuclear weapon integration is preferred.
- Expert knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of command level plans and programs for conducting major operations such as Nuclear Deterrence Operations (NDO), Nuclear Command and Control Communications (NC3), nuclear airborne operations to include knowledge of SMCC aircraft, bombers, tankers, reconnaissance aircraft, exercise and training systems, Planning, Programming, & Budgeting System (PPBE), acquisition or special operations
- Knowledge of the application of military NC3 operations expertise as they apply to programs and weapons systems and the SPO
- Ability to plan and organize studies or projects and to negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations, that involve substantial resources, and require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures
