This position will engage the management team and staff to create a culture of continuous improvement by using lean tools to address production, quality, cost or delivery issues. Our Lean Champion will have documented success in facilitating and motivating business teams to eliminate waste in their work processes and serve as an internal consultant to provide advice, support, encouragement in establishing and sustaining our lean/continuous improvement culture.

Essential Functions

• Support operations management in the development, planning and execution of a lean strategy and metrics.
• Infuse Lean principles throughout the organization, developing the trust necessary to lead change, reward efforts and maintain successes.
• Collect and analyze operating data, including cycle time, yield and throughput to identify and set priorities.
• Apply wide range of process improvement tools to identify and eliminate waste:
• Value Stream Mapping
• Kaizen Planning and Facilitation
• Set-Up Time Reduction (SMED)
• Standard Work
• Visual Management
• 5S/Workplace Organization
• SQDIP/Accountability Boards
• Develop metrics, scorecards and other indicators to assess the effectiveness of Lean activities.
• Demonstrate positive impact on Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Inventory as a result of Lean activities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of three to five years of Lean/CI experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to lead change and motivate at all levels within an organization
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others without direct authority.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
• Self-directed, self-motivated
