MNK Infotech Inc is looking for an Instructional Designer / Course Writer for University level Computer Science courses.

Duration - 2 to 3 months
Full-time, 40 hours per week contract on 1099 Contract
Fully remote

We are looking for Information Technology folks with ID experience. Please see the salient points highlighted below:

  • Content domain experience in front-end/back-end development (React Native), Android/iOS mobile application development, or database engineering
  • Familiarity with teaching or using programming languages such as python, JavaScript, Kotlin, Swift
  • 5+ years professional experience in instructional design for online education
  • An Instructional ID, with good knowledge of front end, and back-end application development- Computer Sciences.

Role Overview

The Industry Partner, Learning Design Consultant is a contract, U.S.-based remote position focused on providing instructional design support for client’s industry partners (e.g. Meta, Google, Microsoft, etc.) that create asynchronous, online entry-level job readiness programs called Professional Certificates.

The goal of this role is to maximize the quality of the learning experience by providing pedagogical feedback on technical courses during content development phases.

We are looking for a STEM experienced Instructional Designer to review online teaching content and provide actionable feedback and improvement recommendations to our subject matter experts.

Candidate will focus on

· providing pedagogical feedback and quality assurance for asset-level items in course content (e.g. readings,

· quizzes, videos, labs, etc.) that content creation teams will incorporate into production. Unlike many traditional instructional designer roles, in this role you will NOT be asked to create learning artifacts using tools (Captivate, Articulate, PowerPoint, etc.). Instead, you will provide feedback in the form of copyediting, review learner scaffolding, testing technical assessments in VS Code (python, JS, Kotlin, etc.), validating requirements against a checklist, etc.

As the courses are primarily in the Computer Science and Software Engineering domain, a STEM background or experience teaching programming is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate course content assigned by the client based on internal audit tools provided
  • Provide detailed and actionable content improvement suggestions for course items, including but not limited to, instructional design effectiveness, content structure and flow, video quality, assessments quality, copyediting, collating beta-testing results into actionable recommendations
  • Conduct quality assurance tasks in accordance to our pedagogical standards during content development phases to enable the client’s teaching and learning best practices,
  • Communicate feedback appropriately to academic and industry subject matter experts by using prioritization methods that help them to focus their development on the most impactful content changes
  • Adhere to client’s content review SLAs as provided to meet internal deadlines that directly impact content launch
  • Use client’s audit tool and training materials to ensure pedagogical best practices are incorporated into the content improvement suggestions
  • Create, maintain, and update documentation throughout content development cycles based on emerging trends and process improvements
  • Interface with the Teaching & Learning team on a cadence determined by the client to discuss updates, deliverables, short-term and long-term process improvements, etc.
  • Evangelize content quality themes/results from QA work in the form of weekly reporting, email/Slack updates, and other communication to internal and external teams.
