Kilpatrick & Associates is a well-established law firm in Auburn Hills, MI. We are currently seeking a legal assistant. The hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, if the right candidate requires some flexibility (due to schooling, childcare, etc) we would be willing to take that into consideration.

The legal assistant will provide support to assigned attorneys. This will include assisting with e-filing in the State and Federal court of Michigan, preparing/drafting Motions, Objections, Notices, Trustee Applications, etc., and opening new case files and maintaining point-of-contact for assigned cases.

If the candidate has previous experience with Microsoft Outlook, E-filing, or TimeMatters that is a plus. However, previous familiarity with these programs is not required.

Candidates must be self-starters, quick learners, possess outstanding verbal & written communication skills, and pay excellent attention to detail. Experience with bankruptcy is a plus.

The most essential requirement of any candidate, whether well-experienced or just beginning in the working world, is a strong openness and dedication to learn new systems and processes and a desire to be part of a strong, professional team. In the beginning, we will coach the right candidate at every step until they have learned and feel comfortable with each task.

Compensation is only discussed during the interview stage with management.

Pay is Negotiable.
