What you'll do


In this critical role on AlixPartners' Legal, Compliance, and Risk Team, the individual will be responsible for performing day-to-day risk management activities, primarily involving the research and identification of potential disclosure items related to current and prospective firm engagements within the United States Bankruptcy Court. The individual will interact primarily with members of the TRS US Legal Team and the Conflicts Team.


The Legal Senior Professional - Bankruptcy Disclosures is a full-time role with a preferred location in Southfield, Michigan or Chicago, IL, and consideration given to New York, NY. The Bankruptcy Disclosures Professional reports to Associate General Counsel – Restructuring, or designee. Paid relocation is not available for this position.

  • Perform searches by identifying and validating information provided by list, document, or spreadsheet, determining appropriate search criteria, and searching the firm database
  • Analyze search results and determine information to be included within bankruptcy disclosures
  • Draft and revise bankruptcy disclosure results
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of the conflicts database
  • Assist the Conflicts Team with conflict searches as may be requested from time to time
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures that address bankruptcy disclosures
  • Promote high standards of conduct and ethics, as well as good judgment, independence, and discretion

What you'll need

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Prior experience with bankruptcy disclosures preferred
  • Prior experience with general bankruptcy matters highly preferred
  • Prior experience with iManage preferred, but not required
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience; law firm or in-house legal setting preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality control with the ability to record accurate time entry
  • Ability to problem solve utilizing critical thinking skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate in English, written and verbally, with personnel at various levels within the firm, both independently and as part of a team
  • Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines, often under pressure and urgent situations
  • Ability to handle confidential, sensitive information
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and techniques
  • Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.

The salary range for this role takes into account a number of factors and is between $74,000 - $137,000 with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
