We have a client that is looking to add another awesome Lending Clerk to their team. In this role you will discuss and offer appropriate loan products and services through needs based selling to help members meet financial goals and the needs of our members. Be proficient with sales and loan interviewing techniques. Have a thorough understanding of credit union goals, objectives, policies and procedures as they pertain to the lending department.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist member in completing loan applications over the phone and/or electronically. Interview consumer loan applicants and provide information on consumer loan products that best meet the member’s needs
  • Deliver the highest levels of service through same day or next day interactions with members
  • Request, review, and deliver all appropriate documentation to the underwriting department
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in all member communications and data input
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment that promotes positive working relationships and productivity
  • Maintain a high level of understanding on consumer products and features to identify, review, and promote appropriate products to members
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities through meaningful conversations and analysis of credit bureau reports
  • Ensure applicable regulation and compliance is met in the consideration, opening, and closing of all product types within the credit union
  • Resolve member issues and inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure members’ non-public personal information is always protected
  • Delivers outstanding service to both internal and external members that meets or exceeds our Service Values.
  • Must actively look for opportunities to increase loan volume as well as new accounts, and ancillary products and services.
  • Perform daily sales activities in order to provide excellent service and meet sales goals
  • Handle incoming loan inquiries and provide problem resolution. Provide member assistance to problems of a more complex nature to ensure member satisfaction.
  • Answers incoming member and/or non-member calls in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner, providing excellent member services to current and potential members.
  • Review all loan queues daily to actively target pending loan applications so that we will fund all applications within 24 hours or less.

Requirements: Experience:

  • Prefer a minimum of two years experience in the lending or member service area of a credit union or other financial institution.

Education:

  • High School diploma or experience in other related field.
